Construction of Business Garden Warsaw takes off

The construction of the second phase of the Business Garden at Żwirki i Wigury street has reached “zero” stage. The construction works were commenced in November last year and after merely eight months the project has left the ground. It is the first milestone in the construction process of this project. The completion of the project was planned for the beginning of 2017.

“The last element of the underground structure was a piece of the ceiling slab over the garage in building 3. It was completed slightly ahead of the time schedule. However, it should be mentioned that due to the cascade work system +2 floor elements are already mounted in the most advanced construction zone. The assembly of the aboveground structure, mainly from prefabricated elements, will be conducted until December,” explains Wojciech Kłopocki, Project Manager at Vastint Poland.

As part of the second phase of the Business Garden five office buildings with auxiliary retail space and a total leasable area of approximately 56,000 m2 will be created. The buildings are constructed using modern design and technical solutions in accordance with the LEED Platinum certification standards. A distinguishing feature of the project are the surrounding green areas. Sixty percent of the plot will be occupied by landscape design elements, including but not limited to green roofs, lawns with ornamental grasses, trees and ponds.

“The completion of “zero” stage of the second phase of the Business Garden involved the construction of approximately 11,000 m2 of tight walls with a depth of 14 m and 180,000 m3 of excavations. The underground structure involved the delivery and construction of 37,000 m3 of concrete and 6,000 tons of reinforcement steel. The works were conducted using 10 cranes.  We have commenced the fit-out works in the basements of the buildings and the installation work is planned to start soon,” says Marek Piotrowski, Contract Manager of the General Contractor, i.e. HOCHTIEF Polska Warsaw Branch.
